Joe opened Spelly’s Pub & Grille July 6, 2010 and the “East Coast-influenced” pub has been one of the most talked-about local eateries since then. With 12 beers on tap, a classic jukebox, shuffleboard and dart boards on the wall, Spelly’s is the perfect spot for after-work cocktails, weekend dining , or drinks and appetizers while watching your favorite sporting events… there is pretty much something for everyone ANY day of the week! With 27 HD TVs placed throughout the restaurant you can be sure there is not a bad seat in the house.
We were invited for lunch one afternoon and had the opportunity to meet Joe Spellman and get to know a little more about the restaurant and his visions for the future. Joe told us that he wants all his customers to feel like Spelly’s is their home. He takes this statement one step further by allowing customers to bring their favorite sports-themed memorabilia to decorate the walls of the restaurant.
Items on the menu include salads, sandwiches (chicken, pulled pork, etc), monstahs (10oz burgers), meatloaf, ribs, sausages and more! For our lunch we decided on Spinach Artichoke Dip with baked spinach tortilla chips as an appetizer followed by the Pulled Pork Sandwich with Spelly’s own Mac ‘N Cheese and the X Factor Burger with homemade Spelly’s Spuds. There were desserts that looked enticing however we could not find any room left to try one. You can be certain we will be back soon and will report back! The food was great and everything on the menu is at an affordable price.
Spelly’s Pub & Grille offers Karaoke Wednesday nights starting at 9pm, Live Music on Fridays beginning at 8pm and you can expect Saturdays to be filled with entertainment, including major sporting events, UFC fights and more.
Spelly’s Pub & Grille is located at 40675 Murrieta Hot Springs Road in between the 15 and 215 freeway s in Murrieta. To contact them, please call (951) 696-2211.
The Insider’s Tip: If you are coming to watch a sports event (or events) and want the perfect seat, call ahead and reserve the elevated box seats (2 people per table). These tables face the two big-screen TVs and look over the majority of the restaurant.
